Paola Rosellini and Maurizio Spadini have always been seafood artisans, imposing high standards and choosing both catch and supplier with care and attention. The Mediterranean Sea provides their counter with the most prized white fish – sea bass, sea bream, scorpion fish, hake and grouper – and the tastiest oily fish – tuna, anchovies and mackerel. Let’s not forget about the shellfish, slipper lobsters, precious red shrimp and lobsters, when the fishing season permits. Paola Rosellini’s great grandparents were the first to sell their catch from the marshes, in a basket, on a bicycle, through the streets of town. Later, in Valdinievole, they fished in the sea and for more than 40 years, Maurizio Spadini, Paola’s husband, has been part of the team. Their passion has been handed down through the genes, so that their children Alessio and Marco also decided to continue the family tradition. In addition to fresh fish, Paola Rosellini and Maurizio Spadini offer semi-finished products, ready to be thrown into the pot, grey mullet and tuna bottarga, smoked fish and ready meals that can be enjoyed at the Mercato Centrale Firenze, surrounded by the smell of the sea.
